Recognizing the needs of our country’s mountainous areas, the President of our Group, Dimitrios Derpanis, has undertaken a meaningful initiative to support the elderly residents of Avdella, Grevena, providing a free 9-seat coach for 20 days.

Support in action, where it’s needed most!

Avdella, a place of great tradition, is characterized by rugged terrain and steep slopes. For its older residents, these geographical features make daily movement particularly difficult, often leading to unintended isolation.

By providing the transport vehicle, the Group ensures the safe and comfortable movement of elderly residents within the hard-to-navigate village, overcoming the area’s natural obstacles. At the same time, this initiative strengthens everyday social connection, encouraging our people to leave their homes, meet friends and fellow villagers, and remain an active part of the community. Finally, the initiative brings new vitality to local life, making it easier to reach the central square, the neighborhoods, and the village’s churches — especially during this period, when the area is brimming with life and energy.

From Kindergarten to University: A Unified Educational Ecosystem

For the first time in Greece, the infrastructure is being shaped so that a student can access high-level educational services from preschool through primary school, middle school, and high school, then move seamlessly into their university studies within the same academic environment.

As part of this plan, the acquisition of a historic private school in Athens’ northern suburbs — with a legacy of nearly 120 years — is currently underway. Its facilities will undergo a thorough overhaul with substantial investment, in order to house both the school structures and the new university academic unit.

This new investment complements and strengthens D GROUP’s already strong footprint in education and skills certification. The goal of our President, Dr. Dimitrios Derpanis, is to build a modern educational ecosystem attuned to the demands of the times — bridging the gap between academic training and the real needs of today’s labor market.
